Only a handful of movie sex scenes feel like they were written specifically for women, but the library scene from Atonement is undeniably one of them. “The best sex scene I’ve done onscreen is the one in Atonement, on the bookshelf,” said Knightley. “It was both the best sex scene, but also [the best] to shoot.”
This is one of our favourite scenes so far!
Atonement won an Oscar for Best Original Score and was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Production Design and Best Original Music Score.
